The Philcox Timber Trading business was founded by Jim and Rosemary Philcox when they opened their home-based timber wholesale business in February 1983. Jim's strong work ethic and commitment to the integrity of the business is at the heart of their success and the business remains a family run enterprise with 4 TIMMS users.
In 1998 the company was slipping behind their competitors in terms of technology and Jim realised they needed to improve the way they managed stock in order to remain competitive. TIMMS was selected due to its specialist timber functionality with its ability to "talk the timber language" and it's superior performance in handling inventory. For the flexibility to integrate into existing business processes and stock control capacity, Jim has been most impressed with TIMMS.
Jim says the system has helped the business to become more stream-lined and efficient, improving the response to customer requests. Jim says that the installation has been "very profitable and a worthwhile experience".
